Each Local Authority is required to publish a Local Offer. The Local Offer sets out, in one place, information about provision that is available across education, health and social care for children and young people aged 0-25 in Wolverhampton who have special educational needs or who are disabled.
The creation of a Local Offer responds to concerns raised from parents and others that they find it hard to access information about what support is available for children and young people with SEND. Families often tell us that they find themselves going around in circles trying to find information and get passed from pillar to post. The Local Offer aims to put all of this information in one place.
The Local Offer has two key purposes:
- To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the provision available and how to access it.
- To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disabled children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review.
