The Children and Families Act is now over one year old. The Act brought a wave of reforms including changes to special educational needs and disability (SEND). In Wolverhampton over 80 children and young people’s Statements of special educational needs or Learning Difficulty Assessments (LDAs) have been transferred to Education, Health and Care plans (EHC Plans). To find out more about the reforms why not read our summer magazine.
Changes to special educational needs and disability in part three of the Children and Families Act 2014 means new statutory guidance for organisations which work with and support children and young people who have SEND. The SEND Code of Practice 0-25 years can be found here or you may wish to view the guide for parents and carers. It is important you are aware of what should be in place.
