Changing Young Lives works with disabled children and young people, enabling them to speak up for their rights and be recognised as young people first, whatever their disability.
Young disabled leaders in the Right’s Squad run training and practice development sessions with both their peers in schools, to make them more aware of their rights, and also with professionals, challenging traditional notions of disability. They also share best practice in relation to real co-production and the outcomes it can achieve.
The Quality Crew, led by young disabled reviewers, use a range of person-centred approaches to measure how services and community supports enable young disabled people to lead ordinary lives. Changing Young Lives leaders also run a series of projects each year, ranging from arts based projects to national Take Over day projects.
