Kate Tonge

KatePhoto4I joined the Wolverhampton Information, Advice and Support Service in April 2017.

I am passionate about helping children and families with SEND because I have personal experience of SEND support having progressed through education with a hearing loss.  I found the advice, assistance and support I received extremely valuable and essential in creating an accessible and inclusive education environment and I hope to help to children and families in Wolverhampton experience the same positive support.

I qualified with a BA (Hons) in Deaf Studies and English at University which extended my knowledge of hearing loss and developed my understanding in relation to a wide range of disabilities and the type of circumstances and challenges faced by individuals and families with SEND. While working within the library service for 11 years I have applied this knowledge and have assisted service users with a wide range of queries including those relating to SEND with sensitivity, care and respect.

As the Casework and Service Support Assistant I will ensure that any contact you have with the service is as easy and as seamless as possible. I will usually be your first point-of-contact with the service so please ring or e-mail with any enquiries you may have. I would love to hear from you.

I look forward to working with you all.
