Have your say on the All Age Autism Strategy

Autism is a life-long condition affecting about 1 in every 100 people. It affects all races, classes, genders and intellectual abilities. It affects how people see, hear and feel the world.  Everyone with autism will experience it differently – but autism affects three main areas of people’s lives:
 

  • Social communication (understanding verbal and non-verbal language)
  • Social interaction (how we express ourselves and understand the feelings of others)

Everyone with autism is different. Whilst some people with autism lead independent lives, some may need a lot of support.
 
There is no cure for autism, but early diagnosis and good support has been shown to greatly improve the quality of life of people with autism.
 
City of Wolverhampton Council and Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group are committed to commissioning high quality autism services and working with partner organisations to improve the lives and opportunities for children, young people and adults with autism.  They would like you thoughts on the draft strategy and the objectives it contains for 2016 – 2021
